The goal of the Preparatory Mathematics Course is to aid first semester students at TUHH in their studies by reviewing and practicing basic mathematical concepts. This course is for GES and CI students as well as everyone else who would like to brush up his or her knowledge in mathematics. It is held as an English alternative to the German language „Mathematik Brückenkurs“.

The course consists of lectures in the morning and afternoon exercises to practice the covered material. At the end of each exercise session, solutions will be presented and explained.

The course will start on Tuesday, 29.09.2015, at 9:00 in building O, room 018.

There will be an introduction to various topics regarding your university life the day before. These events will be in German, though. If you are interested nonetheless, you can find additional information here.

Dates: Tuesday, 29.09.2015 until Friday, 09.10.2015.

Time: 9:00 – 16:00 (with short breaks on demand plus an hour long lunch break)

Place: Building O (“Technikum”, Eißendorfer Straße 38), room 0.018. See directions below.

P.S.: The tests shouldn’t scare you, they are not graded; we use them to help us make the course better.

Exercise Sheets

The exercise sheets will be uploaded here before the beginning of the course.

Please print the exercise sheets and bring them with you to the exercise sessions.

Reach the S-Bahn station "Harburg Rathaus" using line S3 or S31 (in direction "Neugraben", "Harburg Rathaus", etc). From there you can take bus 143 or 14 (direction "Strucksbarg") and get off immediately on the first stop, which is called "Technische Universität". The building in front of you (behind some trees) will be building O.

If you prefer to walk (about 5 minutes), you need to leave Harburg Rathaus through the exit called “Eißendorfer Straße” (follow the "Universität" signs). Walk straight along Eißendorfer Straße until you reach the university (you will see a big sign on the left). The first building is building O.
